Itinerary

1

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Pick up and departure around 9AM to Ouarzazate through the high chain of the Atlas Mountains on which the road level rises to 2260m, with snowy peaks on winter and lush valleys on spring. We stop for numerous pictures for the authentic and breath-taking Berber villages.

Take the scenic road passing via the village of Telouet enjoying enchanting Berber villages where people practice agriculture in small terraces.

The road takes you to the village of Ait Ben Haddou.

Visit the UNESCO protected Kasb ah including explanation about the sites which was the nest of more than twenty films. After lunch we continue to Ouarzazate.

Short tour of Ouarzazate: optional visit of Atlas Studio and pictures of Taourirt Kasbah.  Transfer to the hotel. Check in.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Rissani – Merzouga

Breakfast at the hotel.

Depart to Merzouga desert called Erg Chebb. Transfer to Agdez crossing the the anti-Atlas Mountains or the small Atlas.

Join the Draa valley with its date palm trees with a stop for panoramic views and with a break to see the valley.

The journey will take you via the towns of Nekoub, Tazarine and Alnif with a stop for lunch. the natural beauty formed with Acacia trees and short desert vegetation.

Transfer to Merzouga. Upon arrival and after a break, you will take a camel trek with friendly camels. The camel trek starts 1h30 before sunset allowing to grab good photos and enjoy the soft sand of Erg Chebbi.

Arrive to the camp with a welcoming tea and check into your tent. Dinner and time for some local music, then star gazing! Amazing view of stars at night! Have a peaceful night.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Good morning from Sahara! Wake up for sunrise lovely pictures (this is an option). Have your breakfast. Later on, back to the road and travel via Erfoud to the town of Tinghir.

In Tinghir we drive to Todgha gorges to see this majestic natural landscape. It’s the highest cliffs in the southern Morocco and a good place for experienced mountaineers to go for rock climbing.  Walk between the gorges where the river of Todgha flows to irrigate the palm groves of the area. After some fresh walk in Todgha gorges we continue the journey to Boumalne.

We pass the town of Boumalne to join the nice valley of Dades. It is a green valley with many trees of almonds, figs and nuts.

Enjoy the rock formation and village at the edge of the valley. Check into the hotel in Dades valley.

Day 4:Dades Valley – Kalaa M'Gouna – High Atlas – Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel.

Travel to Ouarzazate via the town of Kalaa Mgouna, best known for roses water. An annual festival of roses is taking place every may to harvest the roses and choose a miss rose of the year.

Visit a local cooperative for roses distillation to make several products from the roses.

Travel further to Ouarzazate and then into the high Atlas Mountains. After a lunch break, the afternoon drive will take you to Marrakech. Drop off at your hotel. End of the tour.
