Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Alnif – Rissani – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue your Morocco desert tour toward Merzouga through some of the country’s most spectacular southern landscapes. Travel through the lush Draa Valley, famous for its endless palm groves, traditional kasbahs, and scenic desert oases stretching along Morocco’s longest river.
Pass through small desert towns including Alnif, known for its fossils and dramatic desert scenery, before reaching Rissani, a historic town once considered the gateway to ancient Saharan caravan routes and home to one of the region’s traditional markets.
By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, located on the edge of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Check into your desert hotel where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and admire the magical atmosphere of the Sahara Desert.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi Desert Excursion – Nomad Experience – Khamlia Village – Camel Trek & Luxury Desert Camp
Today is dedicated to exploring the spectacular Erg Chebbi Desert. After breakfast, enjoy an exciting 4×4 excursion around the dunes while discovering hidden corners of the Sahara and learning about local desert culture.
Visit nomadic families living in traditional tents and gain insight into their unique way of life in the Moroccan Sahara. Continue to Khamlia village, famous for its spiritual Gnaoua music, where you will enjoy a live cultural performance and traditional hospitality.
You may also visit fossil areas, desert oases, and scenic viewpoints surrounding Merzouga before returning to prepare for an unforgettable Sahara experience.
In the late afternoon, ride camels across the golden sand dunes during a magical sunset camel trek toward your luxury desert camp in Erg Chebbi. Spend the evening enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber drumming around the campfire, and a peaceful night under the stars in the heart of the Sahara Desert.
