The 11 days Morocco tour from Tangier to Casablanca is suitable for those coming down from Spain by ferry  to Tangier port or flying into Ibn Battuta Airport. After Tangier; You’ll visit Rabat, the capital city, and Marrakech, known for its vibrant medina and intricating architecture. The tour includes a scenic drive through the high Atlas Mountains, a visit to the UNESCO listed Ait Ben Haddou village, and a camel trekking experience in Merzouga desert. You’ll also explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, the spiritual city of Fez, and the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’, Ifrane. The tour covers a range of landscapes and cultural experiences, from bustling cities to rural villages and desert landscapes.

Itinerary

1

Day 1: Tangier - Rabat

Meet in Tangier airport or port then we make a short visit of Tangier, from hercule cave to Spartel cap and a short medina tour. later on, transfer to Rabat, the political capital of Morocco. Rabat is modern with spacious streets and beautiful gardens. Visit of Rabat includes the Hassan uncomplete mosque with its golden colored tower, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, the façades of the royal palace, the cemetery of Chellah and the Oudaya Kasbah. Later in transfer to your hotel. Check in. Free and easy time to roam around modern Rabat or old medina.

Day 2: Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech

After breakfast, we check out and set off for Casablanca: the economical capital of Morocco. There you’ll visit the Hassan 2 Mosque: a place that mixes auhtentic and new Moroccan architecture. Short tour of Casablanca will also include a walk long seaside called corniche. Right after, transfer to Marrakech. Possible visit of a single attraction or check into the hotel. Free and easy time.

Day 3: Marrakech guided Tour

Today will be dedicated to explore Marrakech. Historical visit of Marrakech will include impressive sights such as the exterior of the koutoubia Mosque (the twin tower of Giralda in Seville, Spain). The Saadian tombs demonstrate the Moorish architecture with its perfection. Take walk in the historical and beautiful Kasbah quarter and later on visit the Bahia palace: a beautiful 19 century palace, home to the grand Visier Bahmad ( 19 century prime minister). Keep exploring the medina with its busiest streets  and stop by Ben Youssef Madrasa ( old school). More of  streets roam  and the the guide takes you to the restaurant for lunch. Evening drums will draw you to the Djemaa El Fna (main city square). It’s a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians, and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and  barbecue smokes. Food stalls on the square sell fresh salads, soups, fried fish and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep’s head. Finish it off with a glass of sweet cinnamon tea.

Day 4: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades :

After breakfast in the Riad, you will leave Marrakech heading to Boumalne Dades crossing the high Atlas Mountains with beautiful views via the Tizi N Tichka (7414 ft altitude). Have stops to take panoramic pictures along the way.  Later on arrive to Ait Ben Haddou village to have lunch, and to visit the village’s Kasbah (citadel).  The site is declared a world heritage by the UNESCO. Many films have been shoot to mention a few the Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, game of thrones and so on. Continue the rest of the stage crossing Ouarzazate, famous for its cinematographic Studio Atlas. The city is known under Hollywood of Africa. Transfer via Skoura and the town of Kalaa Mgouna. Enjoy the nice formation of red rocks and stunning Dades valley. Arrive to your hotel and check in for overnight.

Day 5: Boumalne Dades - Togha Gorges - Ramlia /Merzouga

Breakfast and start the journey around 08h30AM. Set off for Sidi Ali/ Or Ramlia village, a forgettable small village in the desert Sahara. This stage is a combination of on road and off road experiences

From Dades valley, travel towards Alnif; a southern town with oasis of palm trees. from there join the asphalt road with desert scenic landscapes, dried rivers with sandy dust called “fish fish” and Tamaris trees: desert vegetation. This wilderness gives you the chance to live a real African adventure, driving most of the day on trackless ways that used to be taken exclusively by camels, and now are paved somehow.  Your driver/ guide are indeed a Berber GPS, their knowledge for the area assist you to experience a life time adventure. Passing Sidi Ali and overnight in the hotel nearby. Dinner & breakfast.

Day 6: Ramlia - Merzouga

We set off for Merzouga, on off road way that is taken by the famous Rally Paris-Dakar, alongside Moroccan borders with Algeria. You enjoy the desert ride where rarely a soul can be seen. We cross Jdaid & Taouz: Berber villages. Around Taouz village, there will be an opportunity to see some engaving stones dating back to the prehistoric era.

Travel further on road to Merzouga, and just after you’ll see the village of Khamlia and a different experience awaits you there: Attend Gnaoua Music show. Have lunch and get ready for the desert experience.

Take a camel trek to the desert camp and enjoy the reflected picture of sun rays on dundes. It is just like an illusion and a labyrinth amid the sand dunes. Enjoy sunset and arrive to the camp. Enjoy a welcoming mint tea and frshly cooked dinner. If you are intereted you attend some music on the campsite and get ready to be amazing by amazing sky with its shooting stars. Good night!

Day 7: Merzouga - Ziz valley - Midelt

Today, you may wish to wake up for sunrise pictures.

Right after, have breakfast at the camp, and get ready to enjoy a distinctive scenery of Morocco.

As an option, you may wish to take the camel back to the town or a jeep will be provided to transfer you to your original vehicle.

Travel to Rissani: a former major caravan center, and still an important commercial town in the area thanks to its vast traditional Souk (Market day). Take a walking tour to see the souk exibiting different product for sale, and this varies from cloths, electronics to animals.

Later on transfer to the next town named Erfoud and famous for its fossils. It is a place to dig fossilized stones on the nearby hills and also a film location. Possible visit of fossil cooperative will be scheduled.

Continue along the valley of Ziz, famous for the dated palm groves and passing Errachidia which the capital of the region. lunch on the go and then traverse the eastern part of the high Atlas Mountains to reach Midelt in the evening. Hotel check in & over night.

Day 8: Midelt - Meknes-Volubilis-Fez

Start the journey to Meknes around 9AM. Pass via the beautiful cedar forest near Azrou where you might encounter a kind of monkeys called the Barbary apes. see the cedar wood that is used in many palaces and schools in Morocco. Continue via Ifrane to Meknes.

Tour Meknes with a local guide and visit the remarkable attractions of this 17 century capital of Morocco. Meknes is known for huge walls and a royal destrict that witness a brilliant past.

Visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail (reign 1672-1727), and the Hri Swani: magnificent pool inside the royal district. Take a walk in the medina from Lhdim Square and a potential visit to Ain Smen museum.

 

After lunch Travel to Fes via the archalogical site of Volubilis. Check into the hotel. Free & easy at your own.

Day 9: Fez sightseeing

Fez or Fes is the first Moroccan imperial city. It holds a wealth of attractions and described as the spiritual center of Morocco. The Karaouiyin University of Fez is considered among the oldest in the world. Hiring a local guide in Fez is essential to have a complete visit. You start the journey with a visit of royal palace main gate and then move to the ceramic quarter.

Enjoy the beautiful hand-made pottery which i among the best in Morocco. Continue further to Chaouara: the place where they treat animal leathers. although it is smelly, but it is a must to see one of the still continuing dying habit from the medieval time.

Travel further walking down and up the streets and have a look into the oldest university of Qaraouiyine. Enjoy the maze and narrow alleys that are full of movement on Fes el Bali (old Fes).

After an active Journey, we take you back to your Riad. Overnight.

Day 10: Fez - Casablanca

Breakfast at the hotel. At the right time Transfer to Casablanca. Hotel check in.

Pack and get ready to return home and bring shinning memories about the legendary land of Morocco.

Day 11: Casablanca hotel-Casablanca airport

At the right time, pick from the hotel and transfer you to Casablanca airport. End of our services and have a safe flight back home.
