Itinerary
Day 1: Fes - Midelt – Merzouga :
After breakfast, depart to Merzouga desert. On the way we cross the town of Imozzer, a summer town which gives out the Sais plains: agricultural plains in central Morocco. Continue through Ifrane, famous for the university of al Al Akhawayn (the brother’s university), and its slanted rooves to be adapted to snow falls. After short break continue via the cedar forest of Azrou where to take pictures of the monkeys. The area shows the biodiversity of the area with different fauna and flora. The middle Atlas Mountains is located in the center of Morocco is considered the water tower of Morocco and many rivers started from this chain of Mountains.
Head Midelt with a break for lunch.
Afternoon drive takes you via the Occidental High Atlas Mountains with its deep valley of Ziz. and cross Errachida todrive along the palm dated valley of Ziz.
Transfer via Erfoud to the feet of sand dunes where to exchange the car with friendly camels to take you to the camp.
At the desert camp, enjoy a welcoming tea and then have dinner. Take some time to enjoy music with drums around a fireplace. Enjoy the stars and a peaceful night at the desert camp.
Day 2: Merzouga - Dades Gorges :
In order to take lovely pictures, we will wake you before sunrise (optional). Then, breakfast.
Depart to Boumalne, and stop in Rissani to have a visit of the local Market (if we coincide with the market day).
Transfer to Tinghir with a break for lunch. Devote some time to walk among the cliffs of Todgha gorges and along the Todgha river where we exchange the heat of the Sahara Desert with the cool weather of the Atlas Mountains.
Keep driving to Boumalne Dades and join the valley of Dades with its stunning views of green gardens and mad houses.
Check into the hotel. dinner and breakfast.
Day 3: Dades gorges - Ouarzazat - Marrakech
After breakfast, Departure to Marrakech. On the way we cross the village of roses where the festival of roses is taken place every year. We drive through Ouarzazate to Ait Benhadou Village where we visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Hadou which is declared a world heritage by the UNESCO. Ksar Ait Ben Haddou is home to many movies, to mention a few the Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and so on. After lunch we drive the rest of our way to Marrakech via the Tichka Pass(2260m). Arrival in Marrakech at the early evening drop off at your hotel. End of your 3 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech and the red city welcomes you again!
