Tour overview
This 11-day Moroccan trip begins in Casablanca, where you’ll visit the Hassan II Mosque, and then head to Rabat and Chefchaouen. You’ll explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis, drive through the Rif Mountains to Fez, the spiritual center of Morocco. In Fes, you’ll discover the ancient University of Karaouiyin, the Tanneries, and the vibrant Medina. The tour then takes you South to the Sahara Desert, where you’ll spend a night in a luxury desert camp. You’ll travel deeper on nomad trails to Ramlia. You’ll also explore the Todra gorges, the village of roses in El Kelaa M’Gouna. Continue to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO protected site. The tour ends in Marrakech, where you’ll visit the gardens, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the vibrant Jamaa el Fna square, with a day Trip to Essaouira.

Itinerary
Day 1 : Casablanca - Rabat
Arrival to Mohamed V Airport and meet your driver and your guide. Casablanca is the financial pole of Morocco. In Casablanca take a visit of Hassan II Mosque. Head to Rabat: the administrative city of Morocco. Rabat is elegant, modern and spacious. Sightseeing includes the visit of the archeological museum of Rabat, old architecture, the kasbah of Oudaya, the Hassan tower and Mohamed V Mausoleum.
Transfer to the hotel for check in & overnight.
Day 2 : Rabat – Chefchaouen
Morning departure to Chefchouen via Ouazzane while enjoying beautiful lanscape of Rif Mountains and plantations of Olive trees, sunflowers, sugar canes… Traverse Ouazzane to reach the blue town of Morocco: Chefchaouen.
After check in, take a free time to wander in this easy town to explore, and see main sites like springs of Ras el Ma, Utta Hamam square and wander in the Rif Andalous quarter ( old part).
Take photo session of the blue shade alleys and meet friendly people of Chefchaouen with their distinctive North Moroccan accent. See the farmers selling local products raised from the nearby countryside. Dont forget to try goat cheese! Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 : Chefchaouen - Fes
After breakfast at the hotel, start the itinerary to Fes via the Rif Mountains with pictures of enclosed valleys and Berber villages. On the way, under interest travel to Volubilis, the roman and berber ruins and take a guided visit of the site.
Later on transfer to Fes. Hotel check in and overnight.
Day 4 : Fes guided Tour
Fez or Fes is the first Moroccan imperial city. It holds a wealth of attractions and described as the spiritual centre of Morocco. The Karaouiyin University of Fez is considered among the oldest in the world. Hiring a local guide in Fez is essential to have a complete visit. You start the journey with a visit of royal palace and the ceramics and poetry looking at hand made artefacts. You move with your guide to explore the ancient University of Karaouiyin, the Tanneries and the vibrant alleys of the old quarter. You will admire the bustling streets of the Medina where merchants open their shops. After an active journey we take you back to your hotel.
Day 5: Fes - Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, departure to Merzouga desert. On the way cross the town of Immouez, a summer town which gives out the Sais plains. Continue the journey with a break at Ifrane city, known under the name of Switzerland of Morocco, and its unique slanted rooves to support the snowfalls in Winter. Continue via the Cedar forest where we take pictures of the monkeys that are called the Barbary apes. Head Midelt and include a stop for lunch. Keep moving accross the High Atlas Mountains and then along the valley of Zizi where you’ll experience a dramatic change in the landscapes. Cross Erfoud which is famous for the fossil’s preparation. We drive the rest of the itinerary to Merzouga through Rissani.
Get ready for a camel expedition and ride you camels over the sand dunes to reach the campsite at the other side of the sand dunes. Take pictures from the top of the camel, or climb the dunes higher to take beautiful sunset photos.
Arrive to the camp where a welcoming tea awaits you. Have dinner and enjoy some music with drums! Free time to slide on dunes and look at the beautiful shinning stars. Good night!
Day 6: Merzouga – Ramlia ( Nomad trails)
Today, after breakfast you will be riding deeper into the desert of Morocco. The stage includes some on road and offroad drive to see isolated villages along the borders and see the rest of real Nomad in Morocco. Set off for the town of Ramlia and take some unbeaten tracks to see some nomad families who graze their camels in the area.
Visit the abondoned village of Oubahalou and see the oasis of Ramlia where to meet super friendly people who are eager to show their way of living.
Night will be spend in a guesthouse in the area.
Day 7: Ramlia- Todra gorges - Valley of Dades
Breakfast and then departure to the valley of Dades. Cross dry creeks and enjoy the best scenery of black mountains covered with golden sand dunes. Travel to Fougani ( Sidi Ali Tafraoute) and join the asphalt road to Alnif. In the afternoon transfer to Tinghir, famous for the amazing Todgha Gorges. They are cliffs that rise up to 300 meters among which the clean river flows. The palm groves stretch along the river giving a unique view. On way to the gorges stand the old Ksar which is partially inhabited. Take some time to hike in Todra gorges.
Transfer to Boumalne Dades where the night will be spend in the area.
Day 8 : Dades valley - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
After breakfast, drive to Ouarzazate on the way of thousand Kasbah. Stop in El Kelaa M’Gouna, the village of roses where people celebrate the festival of roses in late April. Cross the calm village of Skoura where we visit the Amridil Kasbah. We drive through Ouarzazate, and further to Ait Ben Haddou village that holds the most impressive Kasbah in Morocco. The Kasbah is a UNESCO protected site and many movies have been shot. After lunch, we drive the rest of the itinerary to Marrakech via the scenic road of Tizi N tichka pass. Arrive to Marrakech and check into the hotel. Free and easy time at your own pace.
Day 9 : Marrakech sightseeing
Today will be dedicated to explore Marrakech. Historical visit of Marrakech will include Menara garden, a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers and other impressive sights such as the koutoubia Mosque (the twin tower of Giralda in Seville, Spain). The Saadian tombs demonstrate the Moorish architecture with its perfection, The Bahia palace and Madrassa Ben Youssef.
Later take a stroll in the New town of Marrakech with a possible visit to the french gardens ” Majorelle gardens” under your interests. Otherwise, navigate the different markets of Marrakech and get lost in the labyrinth of the medina.
The guide take you to the restaurant for lunch. Evening drums will draw you to the Djemaa El Fna (main city square). It’s a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians, and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and wreathed in smoke. Food stalls on the square sell fresh salads, soups, fried fish and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep’s head. Finish it off with a glass of sweet cinnamon tea.
Day 10 : Marrakech - Essaouira – Marrakech
This itinerary combines the mysterious allure of Marrakech and the relaxed coastal vibes of Essaouira. after breakfast we will drive you to the coastal city of Essaouira. The medina of Essaouira is a UNESCO protected site. This town reflects the character of portuguese settlers of the 16th centry, and it’s famous for its fine handicrafts, and silver threads. Take time to stroll in its alleys and hike to the Sqala, the place for the “game of thrones” movie. Wander in the Mellah, and visit around the little harbour.
Enjoy a walk along the Atlantic coast at the beach of Essaouira. Around 3-4PM, we transfer you back to Marrakech. Over night.
Day 11 : Marrakech - Casablanca
At the appropriate time, we collect you from the hotel and transfer you to Casablanca airport. Byebye Morocco and hope to see you very soon for another expedition.
