This 14 days Morocco tour from Casablanca covers a wide range of landscapes and offers diverses experiences. You’ll start in Casablanca, visiting the famous Hassan II mosque, before heading to the capital city of Morocco: Rabat.  Travel further to the extreme North of Morocco and explore the proud of Tangier. Wander in the alleys of the blue city, Chefchaouen. Continue the journey to Fes. In Fez, you’ll explore the ancient medina and Karaouiyine University, considered one of the oldest in the world. The tour then takes you to the Sahara Desert, where you’ll ride camels through the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend a night under the stars. You’ll also visit the Todra Gorges, the rose village of El Kelaa M’Gouna, and the movie-famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. The tour also covers the colors of Marrakech with the relaxed atmosphere of Essaouira before returning to Casablanca.

Itinerary

1

Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat

Meeting is in Casablanca Mohamed V airport. Transfer to your hotel. Check in. Free & easy.

If you reach before check in time, we will arrange a tour of Casablanca, and proceed for the overnight in Rabat.

Start the journey with a visit of Hassan 2 Mosque: largest in Africa. Take time to also visit the legendary Ricks Café which has been conceived to recreate the bar at the movie ” Casablanca”.

See city center and around Mohamed V Square and nations’ Square.

Enjoy a walk along the seaside called the corniche, and then transfer to the hotel for check in.

Day 2: Rabat - Tangier

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and transfer to Rabat.

Rabat, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the home of the king and the royal family of Morocco. start guided tour, make a visit to the Udayas Kasbah, which panoramically overlooks the Bou Regreg River, the Atlantic Ocean and the city of Sale. wander in the Kasbah with its intricate alleyways, then head to the Mohammed V Mausoleum where the father, grandfather and uncle of the current king are buried. The building is very interesting with white marble and a decorated interior.

Marvel at the Hassan Tower, which dates back to the 12th century when the Almohad Sultan decided to build the largest mosque in the Islamic world. However, the project did not come to life because the Sultan died three years later and the work was abandoned.

Transfer to Tangier, the capital of the Northern Morocco. Tangier inspired lots of writers like Paul Bowles, and the Moroccan writer Mohamed Choukri, along with many more. It also hosts the tomb of the famous Moroccan explorer Ibn Battouta.

In Tangier, visit Cap Spartel, Hercules caves and a walk in the medina of Tangier including a visit to the American legation.

Hotel check in. Time to walk in Souk Dakhel, Grand Socco and more. Overnight

Day 3: Tangier - Chefchaouen

Breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains with enchanting views of deep and enclosed valleys. Enjoy green landscapes of olive plantations and cultivation of the villagers.

After 2 hours’ drive, arrive to Chefchaouen and check into the hotel. Later on, take a free evening to see the beautiful blue walled houses and take a wander in the medina. Enjoy seeing locals in the Souk selling things brought from the countryside.

See the 14 century Kasbah, do a hike to the springs of Ras el Ma and have a drink in a café while seeing people going around Utta Hamam square.

Day 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

Breakfast and hotel check out at 9 AM.

Transfer to Meknes: one of the four Moroccan imperial cities, beside Rabat, Fes & Marrakech.

On the way, take a stop to visit the Berber and Roman site of Volubilis with a knowledgeable local tour guides. See Mosaics, old water system, Arches, olive stone mills and more staff that witness the richness of this ruined city.

Transfer to Meknes.

The city of Meknes is regarded as the capital of Sultan Ismail during the 17th century. Meknes is known for its huge walls for protection in the old times, and for its vineyards nowadays.

Take a guided tour of Meknes such as the 17 century Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, Hri Swani, Bab Mansour and Lahdim Square. Take a break for lunch.

Transfer to Fes and hotel check in.

Day 5: Fes guided tour

Today take a break and let someone else do the work! Starting at 10:00 AM, begin a guided walking tour of this fascinating medieval city and enjoy the best experience of Fes.

Your tour will include the largest and most authentic medina with its incredible maze of medieval 9 and 14 century twisting alleys, hamams, mosques, mausoleums, fountains and every conceivable kind of market.

A tour of the historical Fez should also always feature the 17th century medrasas (schools), the Sefarine Squares and their fountains, and the old Karaouine University, Bab Boujould and the un-missable leather treatment: the tanneries.

This is a full day and the sights, smells, and sounds of the medina will refresh your memory.  At the end of the day, we collect you and bring back to your hotel.

Day 6: Merzouga -Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz valley -Merzouga

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you drive south towards Midelt with a break at Ifrane, known to some as Morocco’s Switzerland, and home to a private university in Morocco.

After a short pause, your journey will continue through the Cedar forest of Ifrane National park, where you should take another break to observe the Barbary apes, or the monkeys!

There will be numerous opportunities along the way to stop for pictures and to enjoy the splendid panoramic views. This is truly one of Morocco’s most spectacular drives, although it is long distance.

Take a lunch break at Midelt.

Prepare for a dramatic change of scenery as you continue heading south East of Morocco, driving along the Ziz Valley and the palm groves of the big Oasis, before arriving to Arfoud, best known place for fossil’s preparation.

Arrival to Merzouga. Check into the hotel. Dinner and over night

Day 7: Around Merzouga & Sahara camping Experience

Today’s itinerary reconciles with Fez Merzouga long stage. Time will be devoted to explore around ERG Chebbi. We tour the Sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi that stretches in the Sahara Desert across 30 km long and 5 km width. It is a gift that amazes locals and visitors alike. Sunrise and sunset are among the highlights. In the same day, we meet nomad families who take care of their animals in the vast area. They live in nomad tents and they depend on grazing to win a living. We head to Rissani to visit the local market: Souk which takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

In the village of Khamlia, Nearby Merzouga we listen to Gnawa music. At the afternoon, you’ll change the car drive and jump into the camels. Take a smooth camel trek accross an ocean of sand dunes. Imagine being on the top of a camel and enjoy sightseeing of endelss sands. Stop on the way for sunset pictures from the top of sand dunes.

Trek down to the camp where a welcoming tea will be awaiting. Check in and time for a yummy dinner. Later on enjoy the music on drums. Take your time to enjoy the milky way and the brilliant stars at night. Good night !

Day 8: Merouga Desert - Todra Gorges -Dades valley

We set off for Boumalne Dades driving on the road of Thousand Kasbah. We continue via Alnif to Tinghir. This town is famous for the amazing Todgha Gorges. They are cliffs that rise up to 300 meters among which the clean river flows. The palm groves stretch along the river giving a unique view. To the way to the gorges stand the old Ksar which is partially inhabited.

Take a break to walk in the gorges of  Todra and enjoy the stunning cliffs.

After lunch, we drive on the road of thousand Kasbah along the Dades valley. We reach Boumalne Dades and enjoy a scenic drive along the beautiful valley with its nice rock formation.

Stay at the hotel in a nearby area.

Day 9: Dades valley - Skoura -Ouarzazate

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

Set off for Ouarzazate. Along the journey, enjoy beautiful rock formation of the valley of Dades and stop to see the “monkeys’ toes”, a natural formation of rocks made by sand erosion.

Travel further to the town of Kalaa Mgouna where to have a stop to see the roses production. The town is known for the distillation process of Damaskina roses that grows along the valley of roses.

Continue to Skoura, and amid the palm groves reside on the beautiful Kasbah in Morocco: Amredil Kasbah, a 17 century citadel that give a good example of the architecture style in the South of Morocco.

Follow the road of Thousand Kasbah to Ouarzazate. Take a break for lunch, and then visit the Atlas Studio. Transfer to the hotel for over night.

Day 10: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, possible visit to Taourirt Kasbah, and we drive to Ait Ben Haddou village. there exists the most impressive Kasbah in Morocco. The Kasbah is a UNESCO protected site, many movies have been shot.  Start a guided visit of the Kasbah.

Later on, we drive the rest of the itinerary to Marrakech through the highest Atlas Mountains. Arrive to Marrakech and hotel check in. Free time to roam around Jamaa lfna Square and see medina of Marrakech by night.

Day 11: Marrakech Guided Tour

Today will be dedicated to explore Marrakech. Historical visit of Marrakech will include Menara garden, a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers and other impressive sights such as the koutoubia Mosque (the twin tower of Giralda in Seville, Spain). The Saadian tombs demonstrate the Moorish architecture with its perfection, The Bahia palace and Madrassa Ben Youssef. The guide takes you to the restaurant for lunch, or bring you back to your accommodation.

Evening will be a free time and drums will draw you to the Djemaa El Fna (main city square). It’s a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians, and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and wreathed in smoke. Food stalls on the square sell fresh salads, soups, fried fish and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep’s head. Finish it off with a glass of sweet cinnamon tea.

Day 12: Marrakech to Essaouira

This itinerary combines the mysterious allure of Marrakech and the relaxed vibes of Essaouira. After breakfast we depart to Essaouira which is less than 3 hours from Marrakech. Essaouira is a coastal & windy town (most of the time). The city gives out to the Atlantic Ocean with a traditional harbor. it has a rich history and was a Portuguese establishment during the 16 century. Today, you will change the busiest atmosphere of Marrakech with the relaxed rhythm of Essaouira. You enjoy your time walking in the Medina and taste a yummy fish dish in the port.

Walk in the Jewish area called Mellah and hike into Sqala, home to Game of thrones movie or enjoy breeze coming from the ocean while sitting on a rooftop cafe.

Day 13: Essaouira – Casablanca

After breakfast at the hotel in Essaouira, we will transfer you to Casablanca hotel.

Break for lunch on the way and drop off at the hotel. Free time to roam around or get ready by starting to pack for your flight home.

Day 14: Casablanca - Airport

After Breakfast and at the appropriate time we transfer you to the airport. Your tour from Casablanca comes to an end, and we hope to see next time for Next adventures.  Farwell!
