Tour overview
This 8 days Morocco tour begins in Marrakech, where you’ll explore the city’s main sights including the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian tombs, Bahia palace, and Madrassa Ben Youssef Youssef. You’ll then travel to Ouarzazate, visiting the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, and continue to Dades valley. The tour proceeds to Merzouga desert, where you’ll spend a night in a desert camp and ride camels through the dunes. The journey continues through the Ziz Valley to Midelt, then to Fes where you’ll visit the oldest Fes with its narrow streets. After that visit Rabat before ending the tour in Marrakech.

Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech Airport - Marrakech hotel
Meet your driver at Marrakech airport. Greetings and transfer to the hotel.
Hotel check in. Free time the rest of the day at your own pace to see around market area and enjoy Marrakech vibes by night.
Day 2: Marrakech Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will come to meet you at the agreed time. The local guide will lead you to the medina sights. Today will be dedicated to explore Marrakech historical monuments and gardens.
The visit of Marrakech will include beautiful places such as the Badii Palace or the Bahia place; built respectively on the 16th and 19th century, and both give hints to a glorious past of Marrakech as being the capital of Morocco at that time. Bahia Palace shows beautiful arts with mosaic and motif flowers. The palace is made using available material like cedar wood, marble, glass and iron.
You’ll also have an exterior visit of the Koutoubia Mosque built during almohade dynasty: 12 centuries.
The walking tour will take into the chaotic streets of the medina with possible visit to the secret gardens and the beautifully decorated Madrasa Ben Youssef.
Later on, explore different markets to see artisans who craft items and exhibit them for sale. Wonder in the alleys and see the colorful markets with plenty of things from spices, wood, rugs, cloth to the modern electronics.
The guide takes you to the restaurant for lunch.
After that you may wish to visit the Majorelle gardens and tickets have to be purchased in advance. Take a wander in the new town called Gueliz with its cafes and luxury hotels.
Evening drums will draw you to the Jamaa el fna (main city square). It’s a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians, and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and wreathed in smoke. Food stalls on the square sell fresh salads, soups, fried fish and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep’s head. Finish it off with a glass of sweet cinnamon tea.
Day 3: Marrakech - Boumalne Dades
After Breakfast, one of our qualified rivers/guides will come to pick you up from your Riad/ hotel around 8h00. Depart to Dades valley across the high Atlas Mountains with its magnificent views of deep valleys and the isolated Berber villages. Continue on the high peaks of Tizi n Tichka that has the highest main road in Morocco (2260m) to reach the town of Ait Ben Haddou.
Either lunch break or a visit to the Kasbah will be taken first then the next one. You’ll see the kasbah with a local guide to know about life in this ancient village.
Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is the most attractive Kasbah in Morocco where famous movies have been filmed like the “the Jewel of the Nile”, Gladiator and Game of Thrones”. Continue via the town of Ouarzazate and the palm groves of Skoura.
Continue along the valley of Dades with its stunning views and natural rock formation to reach to the hotel in the area. Hotel check in and over night.
Day 4: Boumalne Dades - Merzouga
After breakfast, you’ll follow the Dades valley till Boumalne to join the main road to the desert.
From there, transfer to Tinghir, best known for Todra gorges: canyons that stands at 300m high with permanant river flow from natural springs.
Take some time to strech the legs and walk along the river with possible nice photos.
Transfer to Erfoud. On the way, we advise a place for lunch break.
Continue the journey to Merzouga, the town at the edge of the sand dunes that are named “Erg Chebbi”. Take camel trek to the camp across an ocean of sand dunes where only silence will treat you and vast view of dunes.
After sunset pictures, walk down from the dunes to the camp where you’ll have a welcoming tea before check in.
The guys at the camp with serve you a yummy dinner and entertain you with our local music around a fireplace.
Enjoy your own time to gaze at the stars, and see many shooting stars. Good night in the desert!
Day 5: Merzouga - Fes
After breakfast, get ready for a long journey to Fes but with many contrasts.
The road drive has diverse landscapes with scenic views that will shorten this stage of the tour.
From the yellow colors of desert and sand, through the red Atlas Mountains after Errachidia to the ever green cedar forest of Ifrane National park. In Azrou cedar forest you’ll see some barbary apes (monkeys) before traversing Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa.
Transfer the rest of the journey to Fes to arrive to your hotel around 18. Hotel check in, diner and over night.
Day 6: Fes guided Tour
Fez or Fes is the first Moroccan imperial city. It holds a wealth of attractions and described as the spiritual capital of Morocco. The Quaraouiyine University & Mosque of Fez is considered among the oldest in the world. Hiring a local guide in Fez is essential to have a complete visit. You start the journey with a visit of royal palace main gate. A beautifully decorated gates built by the craftsmen of Fes. and then continue with car and guide to visit the ceramic area: best known clay of Fes. There you’ll see the artisans of Fes and how they make staff from the clay.
Leave the car and start the walking tour to the heart of Fes where you’ll have a glance to the Qaraouiyine mosque (9 century). In the medina, you’ll have the chance to visit Madrasa Bouaanania (14 century). And then wander in the labyrinth of Fes where to see narrow alleys full of merchants selling fabrics made locally and exhibited in their bazars.
See Bab Boujloud and meet your driver to bring you back to your hotel.
The medina of Fes has two main streets starting from the main gate: Bab Boujloud and goes down to the heart of the medina, so get ready to some exercise and wear adequate walking shoes or sandals.
Day 7: Fez - Marrakech :
Departure from the hotel.
Travel to Rabat: Take a guided tour of the political capital of Morocco and enjoy its beautiful buildings and green spaces.
Visit Oudaya Kasbah, best known Kasbah in Rabat going back to the 12 century. And visit the Mohamed V Mausoleum with its unfinished Hassan Mosque, regarded as the twin town of Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech.
Have a break for lunch. Later on transfer to Marrakech. hotel check.
Take your time to do the last touches of your shopping or the last speacial dinner to bring great memories of your trip back home.
Day 8: Marrakech hotel - Marrakech Airport
After Breakfast and at the appropriate time we transfer you to the airport. Far well!
